Coronavirus

 

DO NOT ENTER THE SURGERY IF YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM A FEVER, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH. RETURN HOME AND CALL THE SURGERY

 

You will be aware of the news about the Coronavirus.  If you are suffering with a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please DO NOT attend your Doctor’s surgery.  Please contact the surgery by telephone, and a telephone consultation will be arranged with the Doctor.

 

As a Surgery, we will do our best to keep our patients and staff safe and avoid the spread of infection.  To achieve this, please be aware of the following:

 

  • Patients telephoning our surgeries will be triaged by a member of staff.  Please be prepared to give sufficient information about the reason for your appointment.  If information is not provided, we will not be able to book you an appointment
  • Please do not touch surfaces, counters, or banisters due to the risk of infection.
  • You may be asked to stand a little further back at the counter or behind a taped line
  • Sanitisers and wipes will be made available where possible.  Please make use of these before using the touchscreen.
  • Please make appointments by telephone, rather than face to face, where possible.
  • Please only attend the surgery if you have a booked appointment.

 

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.    The risk to the general public is moderate.

 

Affected countries mainland China, Thailand, Japan,Repbulic of Korea,Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Macau, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Northern Italy.

If you have returned from any of these areas in the past 14 days Iran, Lombardy/Veneto regions of Northern Italy, Daegu/Cheongso South Korea, Hubei Provenence please acess NHS 111 online service who have created coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do based on their particular circumstances.  These can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

 

Get assessed online at https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19 if you've been:

• to Wuhan or Hubei Province in China in the last 14 days (even if you do not have symptoms)

• to other parts of China, including Macau and Hong Kong, in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)

• to Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Republic of Korea or Malaysia in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)

• to Iran

• to specific towns in the Lombardy and Veneto regions of Northern Italy

•  to Daegu or Cheongdo in South Korea

• in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus

 

Do not go to a GP surgery, community pharmacy or hospital.access NHS 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people
