In this latest report Healthwatch Croydon have made a number of recommendations to help improve access to health and social care services in Croydon for non-English speaking residents. In 2016 NHS England implemented the Accessible Information standard to ensure people with a disability, impairment or sensory loss could communicate effectively with providers. Recently there is consideration of whether to extend the standard to include those who have language barriers in accessing services by having little or no English language skills.
