Practice Nurses
The practice nurses are available by daily appointments. Their duties include immunisations, removal of stitches, cervical smears, blood pressure checks and contraception prescriptions and advice. They also run clinics for childhood vaccinations, diabetics, asthma, heart disease services and wound care.
Health Care Assistant
Our health care assistant assists the doctors and practice nurses with many duties including minor operations, coil insertion, and assisting with the diabetic clinic. She also sees patients herself in booked clinics for all blood pressure checks (and can issue repeat prescriptions for blood pressure medication), new patient health checks, injections like flu and tetanus, weight and lifestyle advice. The health care assistant clinic appointments are freely available.
Phlebotomist
A Phlebotomist undertakes blood tests on a daily basis at the surgery between 08:00-13:00. This improves care and convenience, saving a trip to the hospital. Blood tests are normally organised only by the doctors.
